Boldly Balance

Privacy

Boldly Balance doesn't use analytics, tracking cookies, or ad networks. Browsing the site and taking the quiz need no account, and nothing you enter there is stored beyond the lifetime of a single request.

Retreat operators can optionally create a lightweight account to submit and manage their own listing. Signing in only needs an email address — we send a one-time sign-in link through our email provider (Resend); no password is ever collected. Once signed in, a functional session cookie keeps you signed in — it isn't used for tracking or analytics. Your account email, display name, and whatever you submit for your listing (description, location, price band, external booking link, and up to five photos) are stored in our database for as long as your account or listing exists; uploaded photos are stored with our media host (Vercel Blob). You can unpublish or delete just your listing at any time from your dashboard, or delete your account entirely — which removes your listing, its photos, and your account record (email, display name) immediately and permanently.

The quiz on /quizsends your answers to our matching endpoint, which forwards a summary of them (and the retreat list) to an AI model to generate your results. Your answers are not logged, saved, or associated with your identity — they exist only for the duration of that one request. Outbound links to retreat operators are clearly marked; visiting one is subject to that operator's own privacy practices, not ours.

Standard web server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested path) are retained briefly by our hosting provider for abuse prevention and are not used for tracking or profiling.

This is a small, independent project — see About for more on what it is and isn't. Questions about any of this, including your data? hello@boldlybalance.net.
